CGC Accessibility guide - Worthing store
This guide is for anyone - and particularly those with a disability - who may wish to visit our Worthing store.
We have attached some photos of the store below which may be helpful, or you can see a fly-through video on our Facebook and Instagram.
Our venue may not be accessible for all. However, we have put this guide together to help you decide if the venue is accessible for you. Our staff will also be more than happy to assist you if you need them.

Travel, transport and parking
We are located on the ground floor at Unit 8, Montague Centre, Worthing BN11 1YJ (the precinct with the glass roof). The What3Words for our entrance is: ///meals.usage.live.

Public transport options:
Worthing Train Station is approximately a 15-minute walk away from the venue.
The nearest bus stops are on South Street, approximately a 2-minute walk away.
Parking options:
The closest parking is at Montague Centre Car Park which is operated by Adur & Worthing Councils. For more details about the car park, please visit this link.
You may also be able to park along Liverpool Road, but this area can get very busy.
Entrance
The front entrance when fully opened (both doors) is 168cm wide.
There is level access throughout (apart from the toilet).
The main 'Comics Alley' to the left as you enter, is 120cm wide at its narrowest point.
There is also a table to the left of the entrance - there's only a 76cm gap between the table and our shelving unit at the front of the store.
War gaming and RPG area
We have an area dedicated to longer/ larger games at the back of the store. This could be anything from Warhammer to RPGs, or board games.
The space is filled with standing height tables, chairs, and stools. There's a tight gap between the tables and shelving units in places.
This is where we keep our RPG and Warhammer products, paints, and accessories.
If you have difficulty navigating the narrow areas at the back of the store, please do let us know as we'll be more than happy to help, or find products with you.
The tables at the back of the store are standing height and have tall chairs and stools.
Toilet
There is one toilet towards the back of our store; straight ahead, right, and past the counter as you enter.
The toilet door is 87 cm wide. It opens outwards with a push down handle.
The toilet is up 3 steps so will not be accessible for all. It is also down a narrow corridor with a tight turn at the end.
There is a handrail to the right of the steps as you ascend the stairs. There are no emergency cords, grips, or railings.
Inside
The centre of the store is filled with long rows of tables and chairs which may be difficult for someone with limited mobility to navigate around, especially at busy times.
If you're attending one of our events and need accessible seating, we encourage you to contact us. This is not a requirement, but it does mean we can try to reserve you a seat which is easier to access and move away from during busy times.
If you have particular seating or other needs, please don't be afraid to ask at the counter as we may be able to help or ask people if they can move up a bit to make sure everyone can enjoy the venue.
Storing a wheelchair or mobility aid at the store
There is limited storage for these in the store itself. Please ask our staff in the first instance as we may be able to keep these items in our external storage unit nearby.
We have a narrow staff cupboard where crutches and similar items can be stored, but it is not large enough for mobility scooters or wheelchairs, for example. We do not recommend leaving mobility aids i.e., wheelchairs outside the store for security reasons as it is a busy thoroughfare.
