New Comics Day January 16th 2019 - Widow Talk

New Comics Day January 16th 2019 - Widow Talk

There's a heady mix of old hands and new faces in this weeks new releases, with fan favourite Scott Snyder returning to his familiar DC stomping grounds in the latest issue of Batman Who Laughs, coming off the back of a shock ending to issue 1 and sending Bats out into the multiverse...

On the other side of the coin the Soska Sisters take on their first major project at Marvel, helming an all new Black Widow series that promises to be something extraordinary as it comes from these mistresses of horror. If you have read their previous work for Marvel or checked out any of their movies - or even if you haven't - this book looks to be a fresh new take on the classic Russian spy. There is also the start of a new Chip Zdarsky series, Invaders, featuring the unusual (but classic) line-up of Captain America, Human Torch, Winter Soldier and Namor (although this starts with Namor being a bit naughty)!

There is a welcome return this week for Isola, published by Image and created by Brendan Fletcher and Karl Kerschel. Also from the indie-powerhouse is issue 46 of Wicked + The Divine, as we crash headlong towards the finale of this long-running (and utterly gorgeous) series from Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie.

For fans of rippling pectorals (other than those displayed by CGC staff) don't forget that issue #2 of Conan The Barbarian is out this week too, from Jason Aaron and Mahmud A Asrar, which proved very popular when issue #1 came out, so be sure to add it to your pull for future issues.

See something you like the sound of, or say issue #2 of a book you liked, let us know what needs to magically appear in your pull list!

See you all in the shop soon & have a great week and a very happy new year!

Owen, Sam and the rest of the team
