New Comics Day 6th March 2019 - Hustle to the Store

It's a big week for trades, hardcovers and special editions this week, including the guaranteed to be gorgeous The Art Of Kiki's Delivery Service (Hayao Miyazaki), the beautifully titled Blood Bowl: More Guts More Glory (Nick Kyme, Jack Jadson, Fabricio Guerra), the adorable Art of How To Train Your Dragon: Hidden World (Linda Sunshine, Dreamworks Animation) and the unmissable Promethea 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition (Alan Moore, Charles Vess, Jos Villarrubia, J. H. Williams, Mick Gray).

If none of those are enough to float your boat how about a new indie title? Want to know what happens when a career criminal wakes from cryo-sleep and finds out his brother is now President of the Galaxy? Then Astro Hustle #1 (Jai Nitz, Tom Reilly) is just the book for you. Prefer to read about the forces of Heaven and Hell using the inhabitants of Earth as pawns in an ongoing war? Look no further than Obey Me #1 (Mario Mentasti, Emmanuel Ordaz Torres, Ben Herrera), based on the action game of the same name. Would you rather read about occult mysteries and Nazis, set in the world of Black Hammer? Great, Black Hammer 45 #1 (Jeff Lemire, Ray Fawkes, Matt Kindt) is just for you! Are you feeling a little nostalgic for a 1970s TV classic? Phew, that means Six Million Dollar Man #1 (Christopher Hastings, David Hahn, Michael Walsh) is right up your alley! Wait, are you looking for a book for younger readers this week? Disney have got you covered with Frozen: Reunion Road #1 (Joe Caramagna, Eduard Petrovich, Eduardo Francisco). There should be something for everyone in there, but if not, lets see what the Big Two are up to...

Marvel launch a new miniseries in the form of Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History #1 (Paul Scheer, Nick Giovannetti, Gerardo Sandoval, Gerardo Zaffino), bring us some wholesome family fun (or not...) in Meet The Skrulls #1 (Robbie Thompson, Niko Henrichon, Marcos Martin), as well as letting fan favourite Gail Simone have some more fun with her favourite new mercenary in Domino: Hotshots #1 (Gail Simone, David Baldeon, R. B. Silva). Oh, and there's another new X-Men book too. Obviously... From hot new talent Vita Ayala, Age of X-Man: Prisoner X #1 gives us an insight into what happens when the Danger Room is used to house the mutants that just won't play nice with others.

Finally, DC are bringing out their usual range of Bat and Justice League oriented books this week, along with a print edition of the formerly digital only prequel to the animated movie Batman and Harley Quinn (Ty Templeton, Jeff Parker, Amanda Deibert, Michael Dow Smith, Luciano Vecchio, Craig Rousseau, Sandy Jarrell, David Hahn, Dario Brizuela, Rick Burchett) the hardcover JLA New World Order Essential Edition (Grant Morrison, Mark Millar, John Dell, Oscar Jimenez, Ken Branch, Chip Wallace, Howard Porter) and *checks notes* Doomsday Clock #9 (Geoff Johns, Gary Frank). A series that may or may not conclude before the actual world ends...

Speaking of things ending, that's it for this week folks! Don't forget to let us know what you would like added to your pull lists from this weeks releases. See you all in the shop soon & have a great week!
