New Comics Day 13th January 2021 - Eternal Republic

Buckle in folks, this is going to be a long one, as the new slate of DC books continues to drop this week: Together, Jonathan Kent and Yara Flor, man of science and woman of myth, have the potential to become something powerful, but that’s only if they can learn to get along! Can the two fledgling heroes put their differences aside long enough to save the world they have sworn to protect? The story starts in Future State: Superman / Wonder Woman #1 (Dan Watters, Leila Del Duca)

Future State: Dark Detective #1 (Mariko Tamaki, Dan Mora) is the story of a Batman pushed to the brink - with nothing left to lose. Future State: Green Lantern (Ryan Cady, Ernie, Altbacker, Geoffrey Thorne, Clayton Henry, Tom Raney, Sami Basri) sees all new stories of John Stewart, Jessica Cruz and Guy Gardner.

There is a new era beginning in Future State: Justice League (Joshua Williamson, Ram V, Marcio Takara, Robson Rocha) with Jonathan Kent as Superman, Yara Flor as Wonder Woman, Jo Mullein as Green Lantern, Andy Curry as Aquawoman, a new Flash from the Multiverse and Tim Fox as Batman!

Returning to the site of their greatest failure, Nightwing, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Cyborg join Raven to plot a course to face off against the evil that destroyed their team and school in Future State: Teen Titans # 1 (Tim Sheridan, Rafa Sandoval), featuring the first comics appearance of this Red X, previously seen only in the hit animated TV series Teen Titans Go!

Meanwhile Kara Zor-El, has finally found peace and purpose away from Earth and its heroes. Now known as Superwoman, she watches over the Moon and the refugees from across the galaxy who have congregated there. But all of that is about to change when a spaceship piloted by a runaway alien crash-lands and turns Kara’s world upside down! Does this fugitive come in peace? Well, that could be the reason that a stream of baddies is headed to Bruce Wayne's door when we receives a mysterious artefact in Batman: The Chalice (Chuck Dixon, John Van Fleet), collected for the first time with the addition of The Ankh, which sees some of Gotham's wealthiest citizens start vanishing without a trace along with some Egyptian artefacts.

Now, witness what happens when the two heroes finally get married and settle down in the suburbs in Vision and Scarlet Witch (Steve Englehart, Bill Mantlo, Don Heck, more) - just in time to for the new Disney+ series.

Felicia Hardy steals one of Tony Stark's suits in Black Cat vol. 3 (Jed MacKay, Joey Vazquez, Carlos Villa, Juan Gedeon, Natacha Bustos, Patrick Gleason) and he is not happy about it - but was that really her target...?
