New Comics Day 12th June 2019 - Event Horizons

Well would you look at that - it's only New Comic Book Day again! Who wants to kick off with a new DC title to celebrate? You do! Super, here's Event Leviathan (Brian Michael Bendis, Alex Maleev) a mystery thriller covering almost the entire DC universe! Plus they also have Superman Action Comics: The Oz Effect (Basically everyone ever) out this week, where the Man Of Steel faces some tough decisions. We also get the collection Hawkman vol1 (Robert Venditti, Andrew Currie, Daniel Henriques, Paul Neary, Andy Owens), which follows on from the events of Dark Nights: Metal.  Finally there is a Poster Portfolio from Stanley 'Artgerm' Lau for all you fans of his beautiful covers.

Despite the end of their Age of X-Man and War of the Realms events drawing to their conclusion soon, Marvel have a few new books out , including the trade collection of Avengers: No Road Home (Al Ewing, Jim Zub, Mark Waid, Paco Medina, Sean Izaakse), the Hulkverines (Greg Pak, Ario Anindito, Guiu Vilanova) collection, Marvel Tales: Spider-Man (various) collects together some seminal stories of the webbed wonder, and finally Silver Surfer Black #1 (Donny Cates, Tradd Moore) which follows the former Herald of Galactus through a black hole...

On the indie side of the street we have a whole set of new number ones, including Jugheads Time Police #1 (Sina Grace, Derek Charm) - no, really - Red Sonja: Birth of the She Devil #1 (Luke Lieberman, Sergio Davila), Rick & Morty: Mr Meeseeks #1 (James Asmus, Jim Festante, CJ Cannon), The Ride: Burning Desire #1 (Doug Wagner, Daniel Hillyard), Sonata #1 (David Hine, Brian Haberlin,  Geirrod Van Dyke), Trust Fall #1 (Christopher Sebela, Chris Visions) and V Wars: God of Death one shot (Jonathan Maberry, Alex Milne) there should be something for everyone.

If it is a longer read you are after why not check out Kim Reaper: Vampire Island (Sarah Graley) which details the perils of dating as a teen vampire, MLP: To Where and Back Again (Justin Eisinger, Various), Star Trek Vs Transformers (John Barber, Mike Johnson, Jack Lawrence, Philip Murphy) which really needs no explanation, or Hilda and the Hidden Kingdom, one of the books that inspired the hit Netflix animation.

Alternatively there is the third trade collection of Ice Cream Man (W. Maxwell Prince, Martin Morazzo) featuring more weird and wonderful stories, or Road of the Dead: Highway To Hell (Jonathan Maberry, Drew Moss) if you fancy a zombie kick.
