New Comics Day 11/04/2018 - Super 80

After all the excitement of the last few weeks we are back to our regular scheduled day for the blog post and there are quite a few notable releases this week to temp you :)

- Superman is 80 and DC are releasing a swanky 80th birthday celebration hardcover this week to commemorate the event (with Action Comics #1000 just a few days away as well!)

- If supes is 80 then Marvel have to beat that with Captain America reaching #700 plus we also get Gail Simone's new Domino series with the soldier of fortune in trouble,  with her powerrs gone and many looking to settle old vendettas.

- Those of you who have been enjoying half past dead should check out Mooney's next work with writer Kyle Higgins - Dead Hand #1 from Image - A cold war style spy thriller perfect for Bond fans :)

- Image also release Crude #1 from Steve Orlando and Garry Brown - We had a chance to read this revenge based tale in advance and it has a great start with a solid premise - Well worth a look for fans of Brubaker and Phillips

- Up and coming publisher Aftershock are releasing their first anthology work with a hugely impressive roster of talent contributing - Neil Gaiman, Michael Zulli, Charles Vess, Michael Gaydos, Andy Clarke, Andrew Robinson, Mike Carey, Jim Starlin, Phil Hester, Paul Jenkins, Dalibor Talajic, Bill Willingham, Travis Moore, Brian Azzarello, Francesco Francavilla, Cullen Bunn, Marc Guggenheim, Marguerite Bennett, Frank Tieri, Brian Stelfreeze and more! Cover art by John Cassaday! 

- Aftershock also have their latest series from Cullen Bunn starting with Brother Dracul #1 - most succinctly put as Vlad The Impaler: The Early Years
