The artist and writer Steve Dillon died earlier this week so I wanted to say a few words about an him as he had such an influence on modern comics. He had a unique style that blended clean lines with excellent flow between panels making the books he worked on a joy to read. Many of us will primarily know his work from Preacher which has translated from a risky play by Vertigo into the mainstream consciousness today. However, his influence on British comics was huge and will continue to be felt for many years to come (just look at Jamie Mckelvie's work). His work on Deadlines laid the groundwork for many careers in the comic art form and we have a lot to thank him for in many books we enjoy reading today.
