"CYBERARCHY pays homage to the twin driving forces of my youth — fear of the world ending in a fiery explosion…and cool robots." — Matthew Hardy, comic book writer
On the inspiration for CYBERARCHY, Matthew says: "So I could tell you that CYBERARCHY is about society's over-dependence on technology and the dangers of AI replacing humanity. I could tell you that CYBERARCHY is about advanced societies in collapse. Or that CYBERARCHY is about perpetuating existing social models long after they have ceased to be useful or relevant...
"But really CYBERARCHY was a chance for me to write some high concept, crazy sci-fi and get Clark to design a bunch of VERY detailed technology and inventive worlds. And to pay homage to the twin driving forces of my youth — fear of the world ending in a fiery explosion…and cool robots."
The Sussex-based author's published comic book works include the Vehi-Kill series for Markosia, Sickness or Sorrow and The War of the Worlds: Thunder Child series for Mad Robot, the Chimera illustrated bestiary, Hell in Stalingrad GN for Madius Comics, Occulus for Broadcast Comics and the self published graphic novels Murder Most Mundane and Last Exit to Brighton.
Matthew is the co-creator of the Cadavers series of books, and wrote the all-ages graphic novel adaptation of Sherlock Holmes ‘A Study in Scarlet’. He is a trustee of the Gaming Vs Cancer charity, lives in Sussex with his wife, daughter, and a distressing lack of giraffes.
