Comics Games and Coffee (CGC) will be giving out free comics for charity and will match all donations made. The local comic book, board game, and card game retailer has branches in Worthing and Chichester and will be taking part in Free Comic Book Day and Comics Giveaway Day on May 2nd.

The annual event is the most exciting day in a comic book fan’s calendar and falls on the first Saturday in May every year. This year nearly 50 titles will be available for free with a suggested charity donation. Even better, CGC will match all donations made on the day so please be as generous as you can.
The comics are not regular comics from the shelves, they are a selection of special comics produced exclusively for Free Comic Book Day and Comics Giveaway Day.
CGC Director Owen Lambert says, “Free Comic Book Day isn’t just about free comics — it’s a celebration of fandom. It’s a day to explore new worlds, meet unforgettable characters, and share the love of comics with friends and family.
“We’re delighted to be offering free comics to fans again this year, as we have every May since opening in 2015. Proceeds on the day will be donated to food banks in Worthing and Chichester, which provide vital support to local people struggling with the ever increasing cost of living. We’ll also be matching donations. So why not come down on the day to grab some comics and support our local charities at the same time?”
There will be comics available for all age groups and cosplay (dressing up as your favourite superhero or villain) is heavily encouraged! To take part, comic fans can come along to CGC at 66 North Street, Chichester, or CGC Unit 8 Montague Centre, Worthing, on May 2!
