New Comics Day 14th April 2021- Welcome back!

It feels like it's only two days since the last comics arrived (Because it is thanks to some epic fails from courier companies...) but here we are with April's second week of new funny books! Even better you can now come into the shop to browse and collect! Huzzah!

In response to a horrific tragedy and on the trail of a mysterious new super-villain, we see the Dark Knight leave the shadowed alleys of Gotham for the history and tradition of jolly old England. In Batman: The Detective #1 (Tom Taylor, Andy Kubert) a shockingly personal turn of events finds Bruce making his way to the UK to unravel the mystery that he suddenly seems be at the centre of. In the process, he finds himself squaring off against some previously unknown adversaries and picking up some new allies to boot.

Meanwhile Bruce has a new set of allies as the Dark Knight teams up with Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred, as Batman & Scooby Doo: Mysteries #1 (Ivan Cohen, Sholly Fisch, Dario Brizuela, Randy Elliott) kicks off a new all ages series. 

In Challenge of the Super Sons #1 (Peter Tomasi, Max Raynor) a mysterious woman from beyond time has appeared to the DCU's favorite sons, and her arrival heralds certain DOOM (that's a hint, everyone) of things to come!

Harley Quinn has found a new life in Los Angeles as the professional wrestler Harleen the Queen following the death of her mother. But that’s the funny thing about tragedy and Los Angeles: they make perfect company. Harley’s friend and roommate the Jade Feather dies under strange circumstances, and she has to investigate. The 1973 tabloid reprinting the origin of the Man of Steel is back in a new hardcover edition, Amazing World of Superman: Tabloid Edition (Various). In John Romita's Amazing Spider-Man Artisan Edition each page has been painstakingly scanned from the original art to ensure the finest possible reproduction, mimicking the experience of seeing Kirby's hand-drawn pages-it's the next best thing owning the art! While appearing to be in black and white, each page was scanned in color to mimic as closely as possible the experience of viewing the actual original art-for instance, corrections, blue pencils, paste-overs, all the little nuances that make original art unique. Additionally there is a beautiful gallery section of Romita extras.

For fans of the Doctor - and the Master - everywhere, Doctor Who Comic: Missy #1 (Jody Houser, Roberta Ingranata) is the comic debut of the Doctors deadliest adversary, as Missy wages war on the Third and Twelfth Doctors.

Will Archie and company even make it to sunrise? If they do, will they ever be the same again? 

To Amy, everyone has a flavor, and when that flavor begins to disappear, it spells trouble. Find out where her nose leads her in Space Boy vols. 3-6 (Stephen McCranies) that crash land onto shelves this week.

Return to the world of Giant Days in Wicked Things (John Allison, Max Sarin), where Charlotte Grote has her whole life ahead of her; straight to Oxford and a future as a real detective - until she's framed for murder! Facing going to jail forever or joining the police, Lottie decides to hit the beat, all while trying to find the real murderer. Could the future of law enforcement be 5'2" with a strong bangs game? Yes. Very yes.

Two of the most beloved attractions in all the Disney Kingdoms provide the settings for a pair of magical adventures filled with action, adventure, romance, humour and fun! Disney Kingdoms: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad hits the children shelves this week.

Owly and Wormy love making new friends, and when they spot an unfamiliar animal flying through the trees, they can't wait to meet her! Unfortunately, Shadow the flying squirrel doesn't want to be friends with Owly because she's afraid of him. Wormy tries to convince Shadow that she can trust Owly, but she's still scared... In Chainsaw Man vol. 4 (Tatsuki Fujimoto) a mysterious devil is demanding Denji's heart! Will the devil hunters from Division 4 agree to this deal to save themselves? Or will Denji have to do what Denji does best-turn into a chainsaw and slice up everything that gets in his way?

In Worlds End Harem vol. 10 (LINK, Kotaro Shono) Reito and the others are on a mission to meet the princess of Rosania, but she throws them a curveball as soon as they arrive: a marriage proposal?!? Meanwhile, Shato and Akira find themselves alone again, unable to ignore their desires. Soon, they're wrapped in each other's arms, uncaring of the potentially dangerous consequences.

As grey wolf Legoshi begins his final showdown with brown bear Riz, he tells Legoshi he has just murdered and devoured another of Legoshi's friends! Back at the black market, red deer Louis has a revelation and threatens to abdicate his leadership of the Shishi-gumi lion gang. Turns out it's even harder to leave a criminal syndicate than it is to join it. Then, Legoshi receives a gruesome offer to help him prevail in his battle with Riz as Beastars vol. 11 (Paru Itugake) drops this week...

While the Kingdom of Science is busy reviving people in Dr Stone vol. 15 (Riichiro Inagaki, Boichi), Senku's task force is putting together a plan to nab the petrification device. Once the equipment's ready, it'll be a three-way showdown between the Kingdom of Science, the Petrification Kingdom and the mighty warrior Moz! But Senku's enemies are one step ahead with a scheme of their own...
