My old comic book store never did Free Comic Book Day, so why are you doing it?
First of all it's a way we can say thanks to all the people who've supported us during our first few months. All of you have been fantastic and it's been amazing to have so many people show so much enthusiasm over our terrifying and risky idea.
Secondly this should raise some money for charity, we will have collection tins for the Make a Wish Foundation as well as Mind the mental health charity.
Plus I'm not going to lie it's good publicity. Lots of people get to the end of the North Street pedestrian precinct and stop, having the opportunity to get the word out to more people by giving away things people actually want is awesome.
But really why would you open a comic store and not do Free Comic Book Day? It's great, it's the best excuse in the world to get more people reading and it's great to see people get so excited. Bringing a smile to so many faces in one day can't be a bad thing.
